How to arrive
From The Bus Station.
-Take a taxi to Callejon de Zaragoza ' next to hotel Paseo de la Presa' - once there just go down in the stairway, our hostel is an orange building, we highly recommend arrive this way. Also you cna take the bus that show's 'Presa' on the top and get off at 'El Cambio'. Callejon de Zaragoza is next to Independencia hotel, you will have to climb some stairs ... like 165.
From 'Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajio - Leon' (BJX)
-Take an airport taxi until Guanajuato (20 min far). Please say to taxi driver 'Junto al Hotel Paseo de la Presa, en Callejon Zaragoza', this because the most of drivers are from Leon and they don't know the 'Callejones' very well, go down some stairs to find us.

City of Guanajuato
Guanajuato is located in central Mexico, capital of Guanajuato, about 2,050 m altitude. The city is located in a ravine surrounded by mountains, among which are the hills of San Miguel del Cuarto. Its original name, Tarascan language, means "mountainous place of frogs'. It has numerous gold and silver mines that were operated by local people for over 500 years. It has important colonial buildings, among which are the temple of the Company, the Ivory hospital, the church of San Francisco, Alhóndiga, built in 1798 as a public granary, and the Casa de Diego Rivera. Guanajuato was founded in 1557 under the authority of the superintendent of mines Peratán de Rivera, who called the place Santa Fe y Real de Minas de Guanajuato. It acquired city status in 1741. He was one of the centers of the revolutionary movement for independence from Spain, which began in 1810. It was besieged by the independence of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and then was struck in this city the first coin insurgency in 1810 with the creation of the Mint. In 1858, was established as a provisional capital of the republic under the government of Benito Juarez during the War of the Three. Museum Alhóndiga. Building that was very important stage during the independence movement. You can see documents, paintings and historical objects.
